I highly recommend flashing the New TFT GUI for Meshtastic because the large LCD is wasted on the stock text-heavy UI.

• Alt+b - toggle keyboard backlight
• Alt+c - shortcut layer

Early T-Deck Plus units have a known issue of an almost unresponsive touchscreen due to incorrect programming of the GT911 touchscreen IC at the factory. Flashing it with the UnitTest firmware and then back to the New TFT GUI for Meshtastic firmware will fix it.

I was able to flash to the UnitTest firmware and back to Meshtastic without losing any of my Meshtastic settings (of course, don't erase the flash when flashing the new bin files).
